Director of Information Systems
I am currently in my 19th year at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Nebraska. Prior to that I worked at Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Minnesota (an Allina organization) and St. Mary’s Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas.
I started in the accounting department in Kansas, doing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and the lovely job of reconciling the Medicare and Medicaid Logs. My education was in computers and when we implemented our first computer system I got the opportunity to start putting my education to use and have never looked back.
I moved to Minnesota, again in the accounting department, but my focus was entirely on computers. When I was hired in Columbus it was to start up the I.T. department and prepare us for the dreaded Y2K event. And the rest as they say is history.
During my time in Minnesota and Nebraska I have served on a number of users groups as SIG chair, vice chair and conference planning committees as well as board member. These groups included President of the IBAX 3000 Users Group (a Midwest regional group), Board member of the IUA (a national group) and a founding board member of InSight (a national group).
